Figures that are not symmetrical are called asymmetrical figures.
They don't have a line of symmetry.
Following shapes are asymmetrical.
Think and write a few asymmetrical alphabets like G.
Exercise 13.1
Fill in the blanks.
- The line of symmetry divides the figure into equal__________.
- Asymmetrical figures have _________ line of symmetry.
- Letter T is _______________.
- Number 7 is ___________.
- The line which divides the figure into two equal halves is called the _____________.
- Lotus temple has a __________ shape.
B. Are the following figures symmetric? Write S for symmetric and A for asymmetric.
Let us learn to complete symmetrical shapes
The line of symmetry divides the shape into exactly the same two halves.
We can draw missing half of the shape by looking at the first half, as they both are a mirror copy of each other.
Exercise 13.2
Draw and colour the other half of the following symmetrical shapes.
