The mass fraction is the ratio of the mass of the solute ‘A'’to the mass of entire solution.
Concentration tells us how much of one component
(in a mixture) we have relative the mixture (or another
component in the mixture).
That is, for a mixture of
sugar and water, a concentration can specify
how much water we have relative to the solution
(water and sugar), or how much water we have relative
to the other component (sugar).
Mass fraction/ Weight fraction (wt/wt):
The mass fraction is the ratio of the mass of the solute
‘A’ to the mass of entire solution.
Mass fraction solutions are prepared by weighing
each component and then by mixing the components
together. Mass (weight) fraction is the ratio of
the mass of one component of a solution to the total mass of the solution.
